Hive stand

• Hives should be raised off the ground. Custom-made stands or cinder blocks can be used, though the legs of a wooden stand may eventually rot.
• A Nepal field report says log hives are usually placed on platforms or roofs, which gives some protection from theft, ants and the pine marten.
